It's Groundhog Day and today while a little more than 15,000 people watched Punxsutawney Phil pull from his burrow to prognosticate on the future of the weather. One could not help but to wonder, Is Phil a she? At the height of the ceremony just prior to Phil's prognosticating because Phil is the prognosticator of prognosticators, someone commented on how beautiful Phil was looking this morning. I
According to legend, Phil is a he. "There has only been one Punxsutawney Phil. He has been making predictions since 1886! Punxsutawney Phil gets his longevity from drinking the "elixir of life," a secret recipe. Phil takes one sip every summer at the Groundhog Picnic and it magically gives him seven more years of life."
Much to the disappointment of the people congregating at Gobblers Knob, Phil indicated thru his translator who speaks fluent Groundhogese that he saw his shadow. There will be six more weeks of winter this year.
