America's Broken Voter Rolls Need a Hard Reset

The Only Comprehensive Fix the Voter Rolls

The solution is a one-time mandatory nationwide re-registration. Every eligible voter re-registers by a firm deadline — proposed at 12 to 18 months before the 2028 election — with the following requirements:

• Documentary proof of U.S. citizenship: birth certificate, passport, naturalization papers, or equivalent.

• Biometric verification (fingerprint or optical scan) to eliminate duplicate registrations and foreclose future fraud.

New registrants — those turning 18 or moving between states — would follow the same rules going forward, creating a clean, continuously maintained system rather than one that requires periodic emergency litigation to function.

Addressing the Objections

"It will disenfranchise millions." Not if it is implemented properly. The logistics are demanding but not unprecedented. "It's voter suppression." This requirement is citizenship-neutral and race-neutral. Every American proves they are American. That is not suppression — it is the baseline premise of a functioning democracy.

The Path Forward

The evidence is in. Incremental purges and post-election lawsuits provide temporary relief but never address the structural failure: voter rolls that are allowed to degrade between crisis points, with no hard verification requirement anchoring the system.
