Attorney General William Bar appalled to learn that Jeffrey Epstein found dead.

Attorney General William Barr issued the following statement:

"I was appalled to learn that Jeffrey Epstein was found dead early this morning from an apparent suicide while in federal custody. Mr. Epstein's death raises serious questions that must be answered. In addition to the FBI's investigation, I have consulted with the Inspector General who is opening an investigation into the circumstance of Mr. Epstein's death.

Epstein was awaiting trial in Manhattan correctional facilities, and according to news sources died from an apparent suicide. According to TMZ, Epstein who had previously been under suicide watch was not under suicide watch at the time of his death where he allegedly hung himself in his cell. "A federal law enforcement source tells TMZ ... Epstein was off suicide watch at the time he hanged himself. The source would not comment on why prison officials would remove Epstein from suicide watch given that they believed he may have attempted suicide days earlier."

Epstein was awaiting trial for horrific crimes against under age women.
