In an attempt to "chill" free Speech, the Biden administration thru its law enforcement agency, the Department of Homeland security has instituted a new program, the Ministry of Mis/Disinformation. Taking a page out of the propaganda Nazi machine, the DHS will conduct operations that seek to correct American citizens who spread what the administration considers mis or disinformation.
According to the DHS website, the number one cause for this action is "The proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions."
DHS is claiming, "there is the widespread online proliferation of false or misleading narratives regarding unsubstantiated widespread election fraud and COVID-19. Grievances associated with these themes inspired violent extremist attacks during 2021." A claim that many conservatives still believe. While people watched their cities burn down in 2020 at the urging of what the media referred to as mostly peaceful protesters, while rioting and looting the wanton destruction of property, the state department coupled with several media outlets are calling the protests on January 6th an insurrection. Despite the fact that the majority of protesters, were unarmed.
DHS has even included the withdrawal of troops in Afghanistan as a scapegoat to censor individuals who are not content with the method the state department used to remove troops stationed in Afghanistan, "A small number of threat actors are attempting to use the evacuation and resettlement of Afghan nationals following the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan last year as a means to exacerbate long-standing grievances and justify attacks against immigrants."
A little history on Joseph Goebbels. Goebbels was a journalist and a member of the Socialist party in Nazi Germany. In short, he was an anti-capitalist, and despised western culture. Demonstrated by his writings he admired Soviet Russia and the Bolshevic culture. At one point, Goebbels published his "own weekly newspaper, Der Angriff (The Attack). He designed posters, published his own propaganda, staged impressive parades, and organized his bodyguards to participate in street battles, beer-hall brawls, and shooting affrays to further his political agitation.
These actions are eerily similar to the violent attacks carried out by members of the alleged anti-fascist group Antifa. Which has been known to single out conservative voices and target them. As recently as last month the group targeted a legal peaceful rally whereas the Postmillennial reported, "Antifa militants dressed in black bloc attacked a group of Republican volunteers in Portland, Oregon on Saturday."
Heading up the ministry of information is Nina Jankowicz, an author who worked with the Wilson center and claims to be a disinformation specialist. Her professional affiliations include, "Former Fulbright-Clinton Public Policy Fellow." She has been instrumental in the censoring of conservative opinions on Facebook and other social media platforms. She "wanted Facebook to censor Breitbart News, joining the left’s calls for Silicon Valley to censor conservative news outlets in 2019."
She was instrumental in calling the New York Post Hunter Biden laptop story Russian disinformation and Trump campaign product when it was proven to be a legitimate news story. “We should view it as a Trump campaign product,” Jankowicz told the AP regarding the Post report." A story which as it turns out to have been outcome-determinative in the election of President Biden one in six voters would have changed their minds had they known the truth.
For a "minister of information" working for the Department of Homeland Security, one would think they could understand what is misinformation, and what is not.
Regardless of one's views on misinformation, disinformation this department is as Jay Sekulow, American Center For Law and Justice claimed, "an attempt to chill free speech." One only needs to disagree with the current administration, and the narrative they are attempting to disseminate to be put under the watchful eye of the DHS.
Exactly how disinformation or misinformation is defined by the Department of Homeland security has yet to be defined. However, content moderation was suggested by former President Barack Obama, and immediately afterward, the Biden administration formed a new program. Much to the dismay of conservative Americans who thought the program was satire.
