Cover-Up Crisis: Biden’s Decline Hid in Plain Sight

On May 16, 2025, Axios ripped open a wound the White House fought to hide. Audio from Joe Biden’s October 2023 interviews with Special Counsel Robert Hur revealed a president stumbling over dates, his voice frail, grasping to recall when his son Beau died in 2015. This wasn’t a gaffe—it was a damning snapshot of cognitive decay, concealed by aides, Democrats, and a complicit media in a cover-up that dwarfs Watergate’s dirty tricks. Nixon hid a break-in; this cabal masked an unfit leader, risking the nation’s core.
Cover-Up Crisis: A Conspiracy Unraveled
Hur’s 2024 report branded Biden an “elderly man with a poor memory,” documenting lapses—mixing up Trump’s election, confusing countries, forgetting key events. Yet, the White House propped him up for 2024, ignoring 60% of voters who demanded a new candidate (Axios, July 2024). Axios reporter Alex Thompson, in Original Sin (May 2025), cited 200+ interviews exposing aides’ schemes: minimal walking, extra naps, even wheelchair plans for a second term. By June 2024, Biden didn’t recognize George Clooney at a fundraiser, yet the charade continued.
House Speaker Mike Johnson dropped a bombshell on January 19, 2025, to The Free Press. In a January 2024 meeting, Biden denied signing a liquified natural gas (LNG) export pause—inked weeks earlier on January 26. “He genuinely did not know what he had signed,” Johnson said, his “fear and loathing” signaling a chilling question: Who was running America? This wasn’t a one-off. Biden’s gaffes—calling Harris “Trump” at NATO (July 2024), Zelenskiy “Putin” (July 2024), mixing Egypt with Mexico (February 2024)—weren’t just his lifelong stutter, as CNN spun it. Stumbles (Air Force One, March 2021; sandbag, June 2023) and bizarre quips (“God save the Queen,” June 2023) screamed decline, yet aides stonewalled.
A Complacent Media
The media played along, dismissing concerns as “conspiracy theories” (CNN, June 2024). The Guardian (July 2024) noted Biden’s press conferences were scarcer than any president since Reagan, a deliberate blackout. Thompson’s April 2025 Correspondents’ Dinner speech admitted media “missed it,” a confession too late for a betrayed public. This cover-up outstrips Watergate’s scope: Nixon’s burglary was petty; hiding a president’s incapacity during global crises (Ukraine, Middle East) and a contested 2024 election (80% questioned Biden’s fitness, AMAC) gutted trust.
Like xAI’s May 14, 2025, hack—where a coder turned Grok into a propaganda machine—this unchecked narrative misled millions. The LNG pause, signed without Biden’s grasp, hurt allies, per Johnson, echoing xAI’s weak SaferAI score exposing systemic flaws. Fake news fears (“Election rigged!”) thrive in such deception, with lies spreading six times faster than truth (MIT, 2018). The fix? Demand Biden’s medical records, independent cognitive audits, and media accountability. The Axios tapes, Johnson’s account, and Biden’s gaffes unmask a scandal that demands reckoning.
