Galapagos Islands Darwins Arch Collapsed

Darwins Arch located in the Galapagos Islands has collapsed. The Arch which was named after the famous biologist Charles Darwin collapsed and is now located in the sea.


As reported by the Ecuador Environment Ministry, natural erosion of stone has caused the collapse of the arch.

The Galapagos Islands is one of the most remote places on the planet. Sitting some 600 miles (1,000 kilometers) off the coast of Ecuador, contain unique flora and fauna not seen anywhere else on earth and is part of a biosphere reserve.
