Horrific Treatment of Gold Star Father at the State of the Union Address

Thursday evening saw the distressing arrest of Steven Nikoui, the grieving father of a Marine who tragically lost his life during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. His anguish boiled over as he shouted from a House gallery during President Biden's State of the Union address.

Capitol Police declared that Steven Nikoui was apprehended for "crowding, obstructing, or incommoding," underscoring that "disrupting Congress and demonstrating in Congressional Buildings is illegal." This sobering turn of events reflects the depths of anguish and frustration felt by individuals like Nikoui, who are grappling with profound loss and seeking answers from their leaders.

Steve Nikoui, a Gold Star father, tragically lost his son, U.S. Marine Lance Cpl Kareem Nikoui (20), at Abbey Gate in Kabul, Afghanistan, The heart-wrenching scene unfolded as a suicide bomber unleashed unspeakable devastation, claiming the lives of not only Kareem but also 12 other courageous U.S. service members. The chaos and anguish surrounding the withdrawal from Afghanistan serve as a painful reminder of an ill-planned disaster, yet the President continues to assert its success.

Steve Nikouli was an invited guest of Rep. Brian Mast of Florida. A 12-year veteran of the United States Army who lost both legs due to an explosion in Afghanistan.

Mast went onto say, "The Sergeant at Arms is holding my State of the Union guest for yelling at

@POTUS

 in protest because his son was killed in action at the Abbey Gate due to Biden’s incompetence. So much for the right to petition our government for the redress of grievances.

The capitol police overreacted to the emotional outburst, put the grieving father in cuffs, and walked him out for disrupting the president's speech. Is this how we treat American citizens who are overwrought with emotion over the death of their children? Americans deserve Answers. Most certainly Nikoui deserves an apology and answers.
