In a stunning post meant to be meaningful, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez Democratic Socialist from New York House of Representatives tweeted, "This administration has established concentration camps on the southern border of the United States for immigrants, where they are being brutalized with dehumanizing conditions and dying." Citing the experts at Esquire as her source for fact checking.
She further went on her Twitter rampage attacking those who disagreed with her by decrying, "And for the shrieking Republicans who don’t know the difference: concentration camps are not the same as death camps. Concentration camps are considered by experts as “the mass detention of civilians without trial.” And that’s exactly what this administration is doing."
This begs the question as to what exactly the young house member has learned about the Holocaust and the NAZI concentration camps while she was attending college. Perhaps she is unaware of the six million Jews where were slaughtered in these concentration camps. Many of the women had their head shaved, and the deplorable conditions that these people were housed in prior to their execution.
The internet is a marvelous source of authentic data about these concentration camps and a quick search revealed a ton of pictures that can be made as a direct comparison to the current administration alleged concentration camps where people whom illegally cross the border from Mexico into the United States and are awaiting preliminary processing. Illegals crossing over the border are fed, and get medical attention while they are being detained. None of them are forced into indentured servitude, as were the Jews during Nazi occupation. And none of them are being rounded up and transported from their native country into ours to be held at our detention facilities.
To lay claim that these detention camps are "concentration camps" makes a direct statement that diminishes the atrocities that occurred in Nazi Germany. It belittles the horrific circumstances that the Jews living in Germany were forced to endure.
Perhaps the speaker of the House, should educate miss AOC on such atrocities, or the average American should let her know her comments are as reprehensible as they are irresponsible.
Perhaps Dinesh D'Souza explains it best in his Twitter feed, responding to AOC ludicrous claims, "Nazi concentration camps were forced labor camps. They were not for illegal immigrants but rather for war captives, internal dissidents and Jews. Some like Auschwitz had extermination facilities so they also functioned as death camps. So where is the valid analogy here?
