In a pre-dawn FBI raid, Roger Stone, Trump supporter, was confronted in his home by 29 heavily armed FBI agents. The colorful political adviser to Trump has maintained that he had nothing to do with the Wiki-leaks release of documents that were hacked from the DNC. However Robert Mueller, office of special counsel differs in opinion, getting an indictment on the grounds of witness tampering, obstruction, and making false statements. All process crimes.
Stone in an interview with Infowars.com claimed, that none of the charges relate to the 2016 election. They are "immaterial and inconsequential" and the charges of witness tampering are false.
When asked about the FBI raid stone indicated that all the FBI needed to do was to contact his lawyer and he would have voluntarily turned himself into the FBI.
There are questions about whether or not Mueller special counsel leaked the arrest of Stone, due to the fact that CNN was present on the scene when the FBI made the arrest. As President Trump tweeted early this morning, " Greatest Witch Hunt in the History of our Country! NO COLLUSION! Border Coyotes, Drug Dealers and Human Traffickers are treated better. Who alerted CNN to be there?"
Jay Sekulow, lawyer to the President, and Chief Counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ),as reported by Fox News, "The indictment today does not allege Russian collusion by Roger Stone or anyone else. Rather, the indictment focuses on alleged false statements Mr. Stone made to Congress.”
