According to Punxsutawney Phil, Spring will be coming Early. The famous prognosticator of prognosticators has predicted that spring will arrive early. Thus putting all the residents who have suffered under the polar vortex at ease. Phil did not see his shadow!
This groundhog day is particularly remarkable because there have been only 19 times that Phil hasn't seen his own shadow.
"Faithful followers, there is no shadow of me and a beautiful spring it shall be," a member of Phil's Inner Circle read from the groundhog's prediction scroll to the cheers and applause from the crowd.
This prediction is made every year on February 2, where Phil, the famous 100+ year old ground hog is pulled out of his burrow. If he see his shadow, then it will retreat back to its burrow, and winter will continue. This is according to the legend. But if he doesn't due to over cast skies, then spring will arrive early.
