The Resistance of Tyranny

Back in 2018, "As part of his environmental policy strategy, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a green tax on fuel last month to go into effect Jan. 1. The move set off nearly a month of protests around France."

Yet, as part of the disastrous environmental, and climate policy, Biden signed several executive orders that crippled American gas and oil. The cost to fill up a tank of gas has doubled since Biden took office. The cost to feed and clothe a family has risen to the point Americans can barely afford to feed their family.

How have Americans reacted to this? They complain on Social Media. They complain at the dinner table. Yet, there has been little if any reaction from the American public other than to say the president"s policies do not dictate the cost of oil. Yet, when you create an artificial shortage due to a personal vendetta with the oil and gas companies, it surely does.

To add insult to injury, The White House announced the following plans as part of the Defense Production Act:

  • Authorize the use of the Defense Production Act (DPA) to accelerate domestic production of clean energy technologies, including solar panel parts;

  • Put the full power of federal procurement to work spurring additional domestic solar manufacturing capacity by directing the development of master supply agreements, including “super preference” status; and

  • Create a 24-month bridge as domestic manufacturing rapidly scales up to ensure the reliable supply of components that U.S. solar deployers need to construct clean energy projects and an electric grid for the 21st century while reinforcing the integrity of our trade laws and processes.

How exactly will this help Americans in the immediate future? It will do nothing to ease the burden of gas at the pumps, and the cost to bring products to the shelves. Unless the trucking industry runs on solar power. If every single home in America had solar power it does absolutely nothing to relieve the cost of food or gas to go to work.

Americans are hurting, yet, Potus insults them with his comparison to his own life as a child living in America. Congress, instead of taking action, is using its time to hold hearings on a protest at the capital whereby two protesters were killed by Capitol Police.

Instead of spending their time working on fixing the immediate problems facing Americans, Congress is revisiting legislation on gun safety and white supremacy.

The mass media for weeks televised the clown show of two actors in a lawsuit, and Americans were glued to it as though it was the most important issue of the day.

It is safe to say, Juvenal was spot on when he was describing the declining heroism of Romans after the Roman Republic ceased to exist and the Roman Empire began: "Give them bread and circuses and they will never revolt." Except, in this case, the circus show will have to suffice because it is too expensive to buy bread.
