Clinton and her staff are responsible for deleting a good deal of e-mails off her server. Two individuals were granted immunity from prosecution in the handling of her government emails, Cheryl Mills and Cheryl Samuelson. But who is in possession of the emails?
The FBI duly tried to circumvent the Freedom of Information Act by their actions of granting immunity and promising to destroy the laptops of Mills and Samuelson, however, there has been speculation about foreign actors having copies of all the e-mails prior to their destruction.
While, members of Congress, Mueller special counsel and several media figureheads claim that Russia hacked the DNC server, and released it to Wikileaks, despite Julian Assange vehemently denying it was a state actor, an entire investigation costing millions of dollars was spent to incarcerate individuals involved in the debacle. Roger Stone, friend and advisor to Trump is one of the people implicated in Russiagate. Again, that was the DNC servers, not Clinton state department e-mails. Which legally should have been made available to the public under FOIA.
So, who hacked the e-mails?
James Comey, former acting FBI director addressed the public saying, “possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal e-mail account.” Due to the lack of security surrounding her e-mails. However, the DOJ Inspector general blasted Comey saying, that Comey "insinuated that hostile foreign actors may have in fact gained access to former Secretary Clinton’s private email account, based almost entirely on speculation and without any evidence from the … investigation to support his claim.”
Yet, in August of 2018, the Daily Caller News Foundation ran a headline: SOURCES: China Hacked Hillary Clinton’s Private Email Server Where they accuse "A Chinese-owned company operating in the Washington, D.C., area hacked Hillary Clinton’s private server throughout her term as secretary of state and obtained nearly all her emails."
Daily Caller claimed that the server that Clinton used was penetrated by a code that code would forward all Secretary Clinton e-mails in real time. "The Intelligence Community Inspector General warned of the problem, but the FBI subsequently failed to act, Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert said during a July hearing."
Given the nature of how unsecured the Clinton e-mail server was, it has been speculated that any 14 year could easily hack into it and not leave a noticeable trace. Begging the question who hacked Clinton's server.
President Trump weighed in on Clinton's Emails where he stated, "Hillary Clinton's Emails, many of which are Classified Information, got hacked by China. Next move better be by the FBI & DOJ.
