Explosion in DC

Writer's picture: Lynn MatthewsLynn Matthews

Very little coverage of what is happening in the United States due to the Russian Ukrainian conflict happening across the ocean, however, yesterday an Explosion rocked a suburb of Washington DC. The explosion leveled an apartment building in Silver Spring, Maryland at the Friendly Garden Apartments, a four-story, garden-style apartment in the 2400 block of Lyttonsville Road near Michigan Avenue, around 10:30 a.m.

According to Yahoo News, "Firefighters rescued multiple residents from the four-story garden apartment building before it was "completely consumed" by flames, in what Mr. Goldstein called a "miracle of activity".

This story is still developing.

I had heard about an explosion the other day, but they said it was at or near the Russian embassy. Was there another explosion? Wonder if this occurred near any embassy. Maybe I'll Google the address.

Replying to

There were two different explosions - the one with the apartment building happened yesterday. Several people were injured and there are still people who are not accounted for. Hopefully, they will be found and safe but there has been no update on their status so far 😥

I didn't hear anything about this on the television! It's disturbing that the media is so obsessed with getting us into a war with a nuclear power, that they fail to cover what is happening in our own country.
